The number and nature of the posts may vary at the time of
interview. Higher initial start may be given to the candidates
possessing exceptional qualifications and experience. It is not
obligatory on the part of the University to call for interview
every candidate who possesses the essential qualifications and no
representation in this regard will be entertained from any

Scale of pay
Professor : Rs. 16400-22400 plus allowances
Reader : Rs. 12000-18300 plus allowances
Lecturer : Rs. 8000-13500 plus allowances
FACULTY OF SCIENCE/SOCIAL SCIENCES/PMEDICINE
1. Professor of Prosthodontics, Dept of Prosthodontics, Z.A.
Dental College.
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
A BDS Degree of an Indian University or an equivalent
qualification with Post-Graduate qualification (MDS) in the
subject and with 5 years teaching experience after post
graduate qualification as Reader.
2. Reader in Industrial Chemistry (X Plan Post),Dept of
Chemistry
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent
published work. In addition to these, candidates who join
from outside the University system, shall also possess at
least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the
7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at
the Master's degree level.
Five years of experience of teaching and/or research
excluding the period spent for obtaining the research
degrees and has made some mark in the areas of
scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications,
contribution to educational innovation, design of new
courses and curricula.
3. Reader in Journalism, Dept of Mass Communication.
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
1. Ph.D. degree in Communication/Mass Communication/
Journalism from an Indian University or an equivalent
degree from a foreign University.
OR
Published work of doctoral standard or media
production work of excellence.
2. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an
equivalent grade) at Master's level in the subject.
3. Eight years experience of teachers and/or research
including up to three years for research degree and
having made a mark in the area of scholarship as
evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to
education innovation, design of new courses and
curricula.
OR
10 years full time work experience in any area of Mass
Communication (News paper accredited with ABC,
National News Agencies, Radio or Television, Film
Media, reputed advertising agencies, Public Relation
Officers of the Government, Public Sector Undertakings
and established industrial and Commercial Houses.)
4. Reader (Endocrinology) (X Plan Post), Dept. of Medicine
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
D.M. (Endocrinology)/MD (Medicine) or M.D. (Paediatrics)
with 02 years special training in Endocrinology.
TEACHING /RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
As Asstt. Professor/ Lecturer in Endocrinology for two
years in a recognised Medical College/teaching
Institution.
DESIRABLE: Minimum of four Research Publications indexed in
Index Medicus /National Journals.
5. Lecturer in Journalism & Mass Communication, Dept of
Mass Communication.
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
"Good academic record with at least 55% (or an equivalent
grade) at Master's degree level or an equivalent
qualification from an Indian or foreign
University/recognized Institution in communication /Mass
communication/Journalism.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates
should have cleared the Eligibility Test (NET) for
lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC.
NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for
appointment as Lecturer for those with postgraduate
degree. However the candidates having Ph.D. degree in the
concerned subject are exempted from NET for PG level and
UG level teaching.
1. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of
the marks at the Master's level for the SC/ST
category.
2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50%
of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have
passed their Master's degree prior to 19th September,
1991.
3. B in the 7 point scale with letter grade O, A, B, C,
D, E & F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55%
wherever the grading system is followed.
4. A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level
from 55% to 50% for appointment as Lecturer may be
provided to the candidates who have cleared the
JRF examination conducted by UGC/CSIR only, prior to
1989, when the minimum marks required to appear for
JRF exam. were 50%.
Desirable:
1. Ph.D. degree in Communication/Mass Communication/
Journalism from an Indian University or an equivalent
degree from a foreign University.
2. Two years full time teaching/research/experience in any
area of Mass Communication (News Papers accredited with
ABC National News Agencies, Radio or Television Film
Media, Reputed Advertising Agencies, Public Relation
Officers of the Government Public Sector undertaking and
established industrial and commercial houses).
6. Lecturer in Cardiology ( X Plan Post), Centre of Cardiology
& Cardiovascular Research
QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
D.M. (Cardiology)
TEACHING /RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
1. Requisite recognised Postgraduate qualification in the
subject.
2. Three years teaching experience in the subject in a
recognised Medical College as Resident /Registrar/
Demonstrator/Tutor
7. Lecturer in Nephrology, Dept of Medicine
QUALIFICATION : ESSENTIAL
D.M. (Nephrology)
TEACHING /RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
1. Requisite recognised specialisation qualification in
the subject.
2. Three years teaching experience in the Nephrology in a
recognised Medical College as Resident /Registrar/
Demonstrator/Tutor

2. Persons downloading the Form from the Website are

IMPORTANT NOTE : 1. Applications received late or without
necessary supporting documents or not accompanied by full
prescribed fee shall be rejected summarily.
2. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on
the last date of submission of employment forms.
3. Those who have applied earlier in response to the Advt.
No. 1-A/2006 dated 15.09.2006 and Advt. No. 2-A/2006 dated
25.11.2006 need not apply again.
