QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL :
1. A Master's degree with at least 55% of marks or its
equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale.
2. At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (Sr.Scale)/
Lecturer with eight years in Reader's grade alongwith
experience in educational administration including
examinations.
OR
Comparable experience in research establishment and/or

awarded the Ph.D. degree."

Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an

grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master's degree level, in the
relevant subject from an Indian University, or, an

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates
should have cleared the eligibility test (NET) for
lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC. However, the candidates having Ph.D.
degree in the concerned subject are exempted NET for PG
level and UG level teaching.
NOTE:
1. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of
the marks at the Master's level for the SC/ST category.
2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of
the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their
Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
3. B in the 7 point scale with letter grade O, A, B, C, D,
E & F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the
grading system is followed.
4. A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from
55% to 50% for appointment as Lecturer may be provided to
the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination
conducted by UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989, when the minimum
marks required to appear for JRF exam. were 50%.
